Growth from the inside-out

Our services are based upon a consistent message and specific process of Dr. John Townsend’s Competence & Character Growth model. This model is rooted in leadership best practices and research from neuroscience, psychology, performance, and faith. He defines character “as that set of capacities required to meet the demands of reality.” These are four essential life and leadership [character] capacities (bonding, boundaries, reality, and capability) that can be strengthened through experiential learning. What gets internalized, becomes a part of you and is not susceptible to external circumstances. Of course, growth happens over time.

Bonding

M1.jpg

Connects with others on a vulnerable level to establish trust, attunes well to others’ experiences, is able to regulate emotions, and fuels themselves and others with relational nutrients.

Boundaries

M3.jpg

Confronts competently, establishes unique identity and values system, takes initiative, is proactive, and sets and maintains boundaries with others and within the organization in healthy ways.

Reality

M4.jpg

Deals effectively with both positive and negative realities seamlessly in themselves and others, withholds judgment, maintains relationships, processes losses, and creates a culture of continual growth.

Capability

Owns leadership presence and power, demonstrates a strong work ethic, vocational competency, partners with others, influences others with mission and vision, and focuses on leaving a legacy.

“Don’t look for the big, quick improvement. Seek the small improvement one day at a time.”

“Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weakness.”
